Member of the Month
This month’s member, Jennifer A. Myers, is a business advisor to entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and growing businesses alike. Her primary areas of expertise are writing business plans, helping clients effectively brainstorm, implement and pitch ideas, and strategizing for effective growth. Jen created Alayne Strategies, an impressive business strategy consulting firm to empower people to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses and help other businesses launch and grow.
Her passion for supporting others and volunteering has driven her since she was young. Born and raised in Encino, CA, Jen attended Harvard Westlake High School, where community service was part of the curriculum. Jen continued volunteering throughout her academic career and continues to give back her time to support entrepreneurs and other pet causes. Jen began college at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, studied abroad at the London School of Economics, but then returned to Los Angeles to finish her college education at USC. She left LA once again for graduate school, but upon obtaining her JD and MBA from the University of Chicago this LA native again returned to sunny California.
Jen has obtained a broad range of relevant experience, including writing business plans for startups, deriving strategies for the Scripps Networks Inc. websites to obtain new financial partnerships and acquisitions to expand their brands, helping an incubator build its investment companies, and working with entrepreneurs to commercialize and monetize technological ideas. Jen has worked with countless inventors, entrepreneurs, and business professionals to build their vision into a steady income stream and will be the Pitch Coach at this September’s Designer of Things Conference in San Francisco. She also has brought business acumen to many nonprofits needing strategic direction.
Jen initially learned of the Los Angeles Jewish Chamber of Commerce from member Samantha Allen, who brought Jen to her first event and convinced her to join. Jen loves distinct supportive nature of this chamber and the overwhelming feeling of camaraderie; even at her first event Jen could sense that everyone wants to foster other members’ success.
